Nurses Notes………

Is your child too sick for school?

               A sniffle. A cough. A sore throat.

Children come down with illnesses big and small. Some are contagious, but some aren’t.

                  Ask yourself three things…..

1.     Does your child have a fever? Students must be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours (without the use of any fever reducing medications) before they return to school.

2.     Is your child well enough to participate in class? If he/she seems too run down to get much out of their lesson, keep your child home.

3.    Does your child have flu like symptoms, such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, running nose, muscle pain, tiredness, vomiting and diarrhea? If so, keep your child home until symptoms are gone.

Its important to teach your child to cough in the bend of their arm and to wash their hands after coughing and sneezing.

                          COVER YOUR COUGH!!

Most Important!

Hand washing is the number one way to prevent the spread of germs. Remind your child the importance of frequent hand washing and to keep their hands away from their face and out of their eyes, nose, and mouth.
